MR SERGE JARDIN
Born in 1954 in a small village of the French countryside, Serge Jardin is a geographer and historian per training. He obtained his master’s degree from the University of Paris in 1977. After two years as a teacher, he started to travel extensively around the world for the next five years and encountered the tourism industry.
He arrived in Malaysia in 1986 to work as tour leader and tourist guide. In 1988 he incorporated his own travel agency specialized in the French and “incentive” market. Until 2003, he organized conferences, seminars but also cruises, and highly specialized tours in the field of adventure and nature or for handicapped people.
He joined the French Association of Malaysia, the Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Malaysian Nature Society and Heritage of Malaysia Trust. Married with a Malaccan, he moved to his wife’s town in 2004. When he doesn’t entertain guests at The Snail House, he reads and writes.
He just created his own publishing house: The Lemongrass. In 2010, he joined Friends of Melaka Museums He authored: “Rêver Malacca”, an invitation to discover Melaka through the eyes of travellers. He just published his latest collaboration “Malaisie, un certain regard” or Malaysia seen trough arts, crafts and literatures.
