JEAN-ERIC HUSSON (MANAGING PARTNER DOFSON CONSULTING LTD)
Jean-Eric Husson, French citizen came to Asia in 1981 immediately after graduating with a Master in International Trade (Paris, London and Frankfurt) and established his own company in Singapore dealing with imports of electrical equipment from France. He sold his company 3 years later to a subsidiary (Rexel) of the Saint Gobain group and went one to work as Marketing Manager for the Poliet group (Point P, Lapeyre, Weber) part of the Ciments Francais group until 1986.
In 1987 he joined the Lafarge organization as Sales manager for Asia Pacific for their building materials division (mortars, paints, chemicals for concrete, plasters, ceramics) still based in Singapore. Jean Eric was then sent to INSEAD for training in Marketing thanks to the Lafarge Group’s scholarship program.
Jean Eric moved to Thailand in 1991 to build and manage the 1st industrial investment of Lafarge in this part of the world. In 1996 he then became Head of Business Development for the group covering the whole region in search of new investments and acquisitions.
In 1998 he decided to have a new challenge and joined the Rinol-Rocland, a franco-german medium sized company, world leader in industrial flooring to open a regional office (based in Bangkok) and develop a presence in Asia. The company went on to acquire 5 companies in Asean and China and invested in a plant in Malaysia where Jean Eric moved to in 2002.
In 2004 Jean Eric decided to start his own consulting practice specializing in investments and acquisitions in Asean, China and India more particularly in the field of industrial minerals, mining, ceramics, building materials and agro business. He is still living in Malaysia and has associates in India and China.
Jean-Eric Husson is currently President of the French Foreign Trade Advisory Council (CCEF) in Malaysia and Dofson is a Member of the MFCCI (France-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce).
